The only wine from the Santa Maria winery can boast the DOCG certification that guarantees its origin. The refined blend of grapes is represented by 85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. First produced in 2000. Young and dynamic, Santa Maria Morellino di Scansano is a fresh wine, soft and fruity, ideal for any occasion. The origin of the grapes is geographically located in the Province of Grosseto in the heart of the Tuscany Region. The vinification involves maceration of the skins in the must for at least 11 days. Immediately after, the malolactic fermentation is completely carried out after the alcoholic one. The aging takes place in steel and develops for 10 consecutive months. Before marketing rests for a further 2 months in the bottle.

The organoleptic examination shows an intense and luminous ruby red color in the glass. The aroma is distinguished by the nose with evident fruity notes of raspberry and cherry, plum, accompanied by light citrus hints of bergamot and cinnamon spices. The taste is harmonious with a long persistence and a great shoulder, this Morellino di Scansano is congested to the palate with a pleasant aftertaste of spices and citrus.
