A Barbera with an unmistakable trait, pleasantly fruity and extremely versatile. It is made from pure Barbera grapes from the vineyards of Castagnole delle Lanze, Costigliole d'Asti and Montegrosso d'Asti: the vineyards face south, at an altitude of 300 m above sea level and on calcareous soils. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place in temperature-controlled steel tanks for approximately 15 days. This is followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak with 12 months of aging. A further 6-month aging in the bottle is planned.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a deep ruby red color with purple highlights. The olfactory notes recall berries, plum, black pepper and dried flowers. On the palate it is velvety, structured with hints of red fruit and spices. The ending is long and harmonious.
Recommended pairings with this Barbera d'Asti
Excellent with first courses based on sauces elaborated with red meat, mushrooms and cheeses. Try it with braised meats, stews and aged cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16-17°C.
