A typical grape variety of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Verduzzo is a native grape variety of this region where it is widely grown, especially on the hillsides. For this wine from the Monviert Winery, pure Friulian Verduzzo is used, harvested manually during the late harvest with the grapes wilting on the plant. After harvesting, it is destemmed and then macerated for 24 hours in steel. The must obtained following the soft pressing clarifies thanks to decantation: alcoholic fermentation in steel at controlled temperature is then triggered, after which it proceeds with refinement in steel for 3-4 months, with frequent movements.
Characteristics of this Verduzzo from Friuli-Venezia Giulia
It has a bright golden yellow color. The olfactory profile is particularly fresh and resembles acacia, apple, apricot flowers. Slightly tannic on the palate, with hints of honey.
Recommended pairings with this Monviert wine
Perfect as dessert wine. Also try at the end of the meal with spicy and aged cheeses. Serve at 8-10°C.
