This Riserva red wine from the Due Palme winery in Puglia is made from a blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes: the grapes are harvested manually in mid-September from vineyards located in the Salice Salentino DOP production area; only grapes from the best vintages and vineyards are used. After the grapes have dried in the fruit cellars, they are fermented at a controlled temperature of 23-25°C, gently pressed and finally aged first in French and American oak barriques, then in steel and in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Salento wine
It has a very intense red colour and a fruity bouquet reminiscent of red fruits, spices and toasted notes. On the palate, it is characterised by a well-defined tannic texture and a long fruity finish.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Puglia
Excellent with red meat dishes, mature cheeses and cured meats. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C.
