Among the most famous and appreciated red-berry Friulian wines in Friuli, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is a more valuable sub-variety belonging to the Refosco family itself. To produce this red wine from the Monviert Winery, pure red-stalked Refosco grapes are used: after the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and macerated for 6-8 days to achieve maximum extraction of tannins, colorings, and aromas. Alcoholic fermentation is initiated, followed by racking and pressing of the pressed product. Once the alcoholic fermentation is complete, selected bacteria are added to promote malolactics, which then leads to the final stage of steel aging, lasting 3-4 months.
Characteristics of this Friulian wine
It has a very intense ruby red color. The olfactory notes recall blackberry, raspberry, undergrowth and blueberry. On the palate it is slightly tannic and pleasantly bitter.

Excellent paired with red meat and game dishes. Try it with aged cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
