Merlot "LASÒN" DOC CALDARO - KELLEREI KALTERN
A sip of this Merlot will guide you to Caldaro. He will make you enjoy the warmth and charm of this area. Produced with 100% pure vinification of Merlot grapes which are between 10 and 20 years old, very young and already capable of developing yields of 60 hectoliters per hectare of land. The farming system is the classic one in Gujot. The Lasòn Merlot wine from Caldaro is vinified with a slow fermentation in red lasting at least two weeks of maceration at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Follows the malolactic fermentation and maturation for 12 months in barrique that for a 1/4 of the production they are new. Finally a light filtration before bottling. The vineyard stands in a hilly area facing south, between 250 and 300 meters above sea level with a very hot microclimate. The soil is of alluvial origin with clayey presence.

The organoleptic aspect for Caldaro wine is an intense ruby red colour; the scent is that of small red fruit, star anise and eucalyptus. The taste on the palate is round, with well integrated tannins, pleasant to drink; the explosive fruit and persistent finish.
