Lagrein RISERVA "LAREITH" DOC CALDARO - KELLEREI KALTERN
An overwhelming pure Lagrein. The age of the grapes used for its vinification is 10 maximum 20 years. The yield per hectare is 60 hectoliters per hectare of vineyard. The farming system is the classic one in Gujot for the Caldaro winery. The vinification process involves a first fermentation in red with maceration of 2 weeks at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Then the malolactic fermentation and maturation of 12 months in barriques, new for 1/3 of the production, followed by a light filtration before 'bottling. The vineyard from which this exceptional Lagrein del Trentino comes is located in a hilly area with east and southeast exposure between 230 and 260 meters above sea level. The soil is characterized by a good calcareous-clayey presence, it is well drained and warm.

On the organoleptic examination, the Lagrein DOC wine from Trentino shows an intense and deep ruby red appearance, embellished with purple reflections. The ample and enveloping scent is expressed with a delicate red fruit, followed by soft notes of pure chocolate. The taste on the palate is characterized by its linearity and generosity; the tannins are soft and the finish is very long.
