This is an exceptional, refined and sublime produced by the Tramin winery and it is made by Gewürztraminer grapes. The production area has the DOC certification of the Südtirol – Alto Adige. In this territory the vines benefit of the synergy between the mite weather and the habitual rains at the beginning of spring time which allow an early bud and the flowering that benefit from the fresh nights and sunny days before the grapes picking. The Nussbaumer has an old tradition of 700 years in the cultivation of the vineyard and it is one of the most ancient at Termeno. The vines are located at “Il maso” and “Nussbaumer” in the Sella hamlet located at the north of Termeno. The vines are located at 350-550 meters above the sea level where the wind comes in the afternoons to ventilate the vineyards. These are located on clay and pebbly soils with a calcareous layer which is located from 20 cm to 1 meter deep in the underground. The profit is very low at 45 hectoliters per hectare. The grapes are picked and immediately pressed. After the pressing the must has to ferment at 18°-20°C in stainless steel tanks.
Characteristics of the Gewurztraminer "Nussbaumer" DOC
The technical characteristics of the Gewürztraminer DOC Tramin consists of the remaining sugars of 8,0 g/l, the acidity of 4,9 g/l and the proof of 15,1 %. It can be aged until 10 years. It has a bright straw yellow color with rose petals, cinnamon, ripen exotic fruits and carnation aromas. The taste is aromatic, pleasant, spicy and persistent.

This wine is perfect with vapored or raw fish. It is perfect with Asian cooking and also alone as meditation wine. It has to be served at 12°C in tulip wine glasses.
