Vanzini Bonarda dell'Oltrepò Pavese DOC “Vigna Guardia” is a red wine obtained mainly from Croatian grapes grown in the hills of Oltrepò Pavese,in the municipality of San Damiano al Colle. The vineyards are located on clayey-limestone soils rich in marl and sandstone, ideal for giving structure, aromatic intensity and balance to the wine. Winemaking takes place in temperature-controlled steel with maceration on the skins for about ten days, followed by an 18-month aging period in steel that allows the wine to develop complexity and elegance.
Characteristics of this wine from the Vanzini Winery
From an organoleptic point of view it has an intense ruby red colour with purple reflections. On the nose it expresses broad and persistent scents of ripe red fruits such as cherry, blackberry and raspberry, accompanied by light spicy and floral notes. In the mouth it is soft, structured and harmonious, with velvety tannins, good freshness and a long aromatic persistence that recalls the ripe fruit and spicy nuances.
Recommended pairings with this red wine
It pairs very well with red meats, braised meats, game, tasty first courses and aged cheeses. Thanks to its structure and balance, it is also particularly suitable with traditional Lombard dishes. Serve at 18°C.
