Merlot Riserva "SIEBENEICH" COLTERENZIO
This wine results from the vinification of 100% pure Merlot grape coming from 20-year-old espalier-trained vines, with a density of 5,000 plants per hectare. The origin is the classic South Tyrolean one: this is a very dry and hot area with quartz and porphyritic alluvial sediments that allows only low yields. Vinification involves a fermentation on the skins at 28-30°C in steel. Frequent careful reassembly of peels and juice for optimal color extraction. The wine ferments for 1/3 in barriques and 2/3 in 35 hl wooden vats for about 18 months. After careful bottling, 12 months of bottle aging follow.
Merlot Riserva Siebeneich Colterenzio’s features
A ruby red color with violet reflections. The scent on the nose broadens and envelops with aromas of ripe berries and bitter chocolate. The taste is dense and complex in the mouth with subtle tannins.
