From the Vigna del Gris located near Monforte d'Alba, from which it takes its name, this red wine from the Piedmontese winery Conterno Fantino was born. The grapes used for its production are obviously pure Nebbiolo: the vineyards located at an altitude between 300 and 350 m above sea level enjoy a south-eastern exposure and silty soils with sand, very calcareous. The harvest is carried out manually in October at optimal ripeness. This is followed by maceration and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled steel, followed by malolactic fermentation in wood. The final aging phase takes place in oak barrels for 12 months.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a deep garnet red color with orange highlights. The olfactory bouquet is intense, fruity and reminiscent of berries, raspberries, spices. On the palate it is full, robust, pleasantly velvety.

Excellent with particularly elaborate meat-based dishes such as braised meats, roasts, stews. Also perfect with mushroom and cheese abse dishes. Serve at 18-20°C.
