From the use of pure Nebbiolo grapes from the historic Mosconi vineyard near Monforte d'Alba, this red wine from the Conterno Fantino winery was born. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 380-410 m above sea level, on silty soils with sand and limestone. After manual harvesting of the bunches, maceration and alcoholic fermentation in steel are carried out at controlled temperature. This is followed by malolactic wood and final refinement in French oak wood for 24 months.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a very deep ruby red color. On the nose it gives off fruity notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum, as well as dry grass, wood and graphite. On the thick palate it is the tannic moth, with a long, spicy and balsamic finish.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Conterno Fantino
Excellent with red meat and game dishes: roasts, braised meats, stews. Serve at 18°C.
