Pinot Nero DOC BIO
Alto Adige is one of the most suitable zone in Italy to cultivate Pinot Nero. It fact, it is able to offer the best conditions for the plants growth and that is the main reason why, this variety is the most diffused in this territory. The grapes prefer a fresh, windy climate and grow better on soils rich of limestone, pebbles and clay. Pinot Nero produced by Alois Lageder comes from selected vineyards in Appiano, Pochi di Salorno and Cortaccia and more than the others it is able to collect refined and vigorous characteristics. The wine making is done with 100% Pinot Nero grapes. The provenience of the plants is limited by a strict selection and it is concentrated in the zone of Pochi, Appiano and Cortaccia, located at 300-450 meters on the sea level. The lands are mainly composed by sand, clay and limestone. Vineyard are maximum 47 years old and the harvest is planned at the beginning of September. Fermentation and maceration are managed in steel containers while the aging is developed in wooden barrels or concrete baths, for at least 12 months. The result is a fresh, elegant wine, rich of fragrance and fruits, perfect for every situation.
