Al Passo del Leone Rosso BIO ALOIS LAGEDER

Passo del Leone Rosso represent Alois Lageder philosophy, based on biological and dynamic cultivation. It was launched for the first time in 2009 and was the first biodynamic red wine. Today some partners have started with biodynamic methods. Their grapes, spread in every area of Trentino Alto Adige, are joined into this harmonic cuvee. In fact, this wine is composed by different varieties: Cabernet, Merlot, Lagrein, Syrah, Tannat, Pétit Verdot. The grapes come from selected vineyards in Magrè, located 230-320 meters on the sea level. The soil is rich of gravel and limestone. The plants are maximum 43 years old and the harvest starts at the end of September. The wine making starts with spontaneous fermentation and continues with a further maceration in steel. The aging in wooden barrels for 12 months let the malolactic fermentation begin. Passo del Leone Rosso, composed by biodynamic Lagrein and Merlot selected in the zone of Magrè, is a soft wine full of shades. A red wine with a particular harmony, dynamic, deep.

Features of PASSO DEL LEONE ROSSO

Intense purple red with a wide range of aromas. It is a young wine, characterized by black and red berries, flowers, minerals and spices. The taste is balanced, persistent and the presence of a good tannin is perceivable.

It can be considered a perfect match for every type of meal: game, beef or lamb meat, savoury cheeses. It has to be served at 14° C and its alcoholic strength reaches 13% Vol.
