This Amarone della Valpolicella della Cantina Coffele has its origins in the vineyards located in the hilly area of Campiano, at about 400 m above sea level. For the production of this renowned Valpolicella wine, the harvest is carried out by hand between late September and early October: the bunches are carefully selected and collected in crates before wilting inside the fruit shop, where a long natural wilting process takes place for about three months. The pressing is carried out between January and February and then the wine ferments in steel at a controlled temperature for approximately 40 days, performing periodic daily reassemblies. Maturation takes place in wood for 3 years, until bottling and then further aging in the bottle for at least two months.
Characteristics of this Amarone wine from Valpolicella
It has a deep ruby red color and an olfactory bouquet reminiscent of cherries in spirit, black cherries, licorice and leather but also spices and undergrowth. On the palate it is elegant, velvety but complex, with an excellent structure.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Veneto
Excellent with game-based dishes, red meat and long-aged cheeses. Serve at 17-18°C.
