Traminer Aromatico Passito Aur is a sweet wine produced by the Ronco del Gelso winery from Traminer Aromatico grapes left to wilt to concentrate sugars and aromas: "Aur" is the Friulian term meaning gold, an image that immediately refers to the warm color of this wine. Winemaking takes place with a soft pressing of the raisins and slow fermentation at a controlled temperature, thus preserving the aromatic richness. The wine then ripens in small oak containers for about a year, a choice that helps increase its complexity and depth without covering the varietal component.
Characteristics of this Friulian passito wine
From an organoleptic point of view it has an intense and bright golden colour. The olfactory profile is broad and very expressive, with notes of ripe fruit such as apricot and peach, hints of honey, sweet spices and floral nuances typical of the Traminer. In the mouth it is rich and enveloping, with an important sweetness but balanced by a freshness that avoids the cloying effect. The finish is long, aromatic and persistent, with returns of candied fruit and honey.

It is an end-of-meal or meditation wine that is best expressed with dry desserts, dry fruit pastry and not too sweet creams. It also pairs excellently with blue and soft cheeses, where the contrast between sweetness and flavour creates a very harmonious balance. Also interesting is the combination with foie gras, which enhances its aromatic richness and its soft taste. Serve at a temperature of 10-12°C.
