Terre Siciliane "Frappato Contrada Fossa di Lupo" OCCHIPINTI
From the vinification of Frappato di Vittoria grapes cultivated in organic cultivation, without chemical intervention. Its origin lies in the sicilian area of Fossa di Lupo, an historic district of sandy lands with shades ranging from red to brown and with the presence of limestone in stone. After the first 40 cm of sand there is a rather hard layer of rocky limestone. The vineyard has a plant typical of the Vittoria area. The district faces the Iblei Mountains to the north east: from here usually derive fruity wines as well as austere and little acid one. Harvest takes place during the first ten days of October. Vinification involves indigenous yeasts, 30 days maceration on the skins. Aging takes 14 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels, 1 month in bottle. The bottles produced are just 2700.
