Terre Siciliane "Frappato Contrada Bombolieri" OCCHIPINTI
From the excellent Sicilian vine of Frappato di Vittoria, growing in organic cultivation without chemical intervention. Its origin lies in the heart of Sicily, in the town of Bombolieri, on a very limestone promontory overlooking the Serra San Bartolo. Here the lands vary from brown to white, but the super sand layer is much lower, only 25 cm. Just below are solid limestone rocks. Part of the district has a more clay-limestone soil, white on the surface and it is here, in the Vigna Strada that this floral, pure and highly acidic wine is born. Harvest takes place within the first ten days of October. Vinification takes place with indigenous yeasts,then 30 days maceration on the skins. Aging takes 14 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels, 1 month in bottle. No filtration. 2700 bottles are produced.

A dark ruby red colour. Perfume is a real explosion of intensity and complexity. Notes of red fruit, currant and plum, are embellished with Mediterranean hints of myrtle, tobacco, sweet spices. Taste is enveloping and full, engaging and very long. A wonderfully balanced, deep and reactive wine, infinite in participation and persistence.
