This red wine from Cantina Vignaioli Scansano is made mainly from Ciliegiolo grapes: the 10-15-year-old vineyards are located between 100 and 300 metres above sea level, on silty soils; once harvested at perfect ripeness during the mid-September harvest, the grapes are then macerated at a high temperature for 12 hours; This is followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of no more than 27°C. The final stage involves racking after 4 days of fermentation with the skins and finally ageing on the fine lees: maturation in steel for 3 months and ageing in the bottle for at least 3 months.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
It has a bright ruby red colour: the bouquet is reminiscent of fruit, especially cherries and berries, but also floral notes. On the palate, it is pleasantly fruity and well-structured. Excellent persistence, also fruity.
