Chardonnay "FLORA" DOC GIRLAN

With 100% Chardonnay grapes, Girlan winery produces Flora, a great wine characterized by the denomination Alto Adige DOC. The grapes are selected in the area of Cornaiano, on the hills near the Adige river. The lands here are located between 450-500 meters above the sea level and the plants, trained with guyot method, are around 20 years old. The soils are rich of minerals, created by sediments that date to the glacial era. The manual harvest is followed, in the cellar, by the soft pressing of the entire grapes. The elimination of lees is managed through the natural sedimentation of the must. The fermentation is developed in French oak barrels with dimensions that swing between 12-15 hl. After this process, the wine is submitted to malolactic fermentation too. The aging on lees lasts for 12 months and continues in the bottle for other six months.

Features of the white wine “Chardonnay Flora” by Girlan

The aspect shows an intense straw yellow colour. Its perfume is mineral and complex, recalling mature, yellow fruits, citrus fruits and apple. The taste is soft, balanced, enchanting, elegant and persistent.

Suggested with classy preparations, meat included. It should be served at 14°C in a high, wide wine glass that allows the diffusion of the scents.
