Wine description
In the iconic Apulian territory of Valle d'Itria, the “land of Trulli” that stretches between the city of Bari and the provinces of Brindisi and Taranto, this Apulian red wine from the Tenute Girolamo winery is produced from pure Aglianico grapes: after the harvest, soft maceration and subsequent fermentation in steel vats takes place, followed by a long ageing phase in French oak barriques for 12 months and then in bottles for a further 6 months.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has a very intense ruby red colour with violet hues. The olfactory bouquet is purely fruity and reminiscent of plum and blackberry: hints of vanilla and liquorice are also well delineated. On the palate it is soft and with a good persistence.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
Excellent with red meat dishes, game and mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 18-20 C°.
