Descrizione vino

A red wine that is the symbol of Friuli and of collio. It is composed by an international vine variety that find in this area its perfect climatic conditions.This wine praises the denomination DOC. It is produced in the area of Collio, where the prestigious Muzic winery operates. The vineyards are spread in the district of San Floriano del Collio, Località Uclanzi, Località Bivio. It is composed by 100% Cabernet Sauvignon cultivated on hills soils characterized by marl and sands of Eocenic origin. The plants are trained with traditional guyot method and produce between 60-70 quintals per hectare. The manual harvest starts in the first decade of October. The wine making starts with the elimination of stalks and continues with pressing process and maceration, that lasts 8 days. The aging is managed in oak barrels for 12 months.

 

Features of the red wine “Collio Cabernet Sauvignon”

The aspect of this sensational wine of Friuli reveals a ruby red colour with light garnet shades. Its perfume is intense and deep and recalls blackberry and blueberry. The taste is warm, armonic and balanced, with good tannins.

 

Recommended food pairings while tasting this red wine

Excellent for important dishes like red meat, roasted meat, game and aged cheeses. It has to be served at 18°C in a high, tapered wine glass. It reaches an alcoholic strength of 13,5% Vol.
