Merlot DOC Castello di Spessa
The Merlot of Castello di Spessa Winery was born in Cormons in the heart of the DOC Friuli where the soil is mainly made of clay and sand with a presence of gravel. After the harvest , the grapes are taken to the cellar for vinification in steel at controlled temperature. The wine then ages for about 12 months in large oak barrels. After the aging, the wine is then left to rest for a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Merlot DOC's features
The color is an intense ruby red. There is harmony between the fruity notes of blackberry, blueberry and black cherry with balsamic and spicy notes. The mouthfeel is soft, warm, harmonious and well balanced.
Suggested food pairings while tasting this product of Castello di Spessa winery
Perfect with red meats and medium and long aged cheeses. Try it with braised meat. Serve at a temperature of 16/18°C in a glass not very wide.
