This red wine from Cantina Cusumano was born from the use of pure Nerello Mascalese grapes grown in vineyards over 150 years old, located between 800 and 1000 m above sea level in the Guardiola district. This wine is part of the Alta Mora line, created to evoke the salient characteristics of the area: Alta refers to the altitude of the vineyards located between 600 and 800 m above sea level and Mora evokes the dark color of volcanic earth, the blackberry or lava on which the vineyards grow and which gives the wine its typical minerality. Once the manual harvest is finished, the bunches are subjected to destemming, maceration at 28°C for 18-21 days and soft pressing. This is followed by malolactic wood and finally aged in 25 hectolitre barrels and tonneaux for 16-18 months.
