Etna Rosso ALTA MORA from the Sicilian Cusumano winery is made from pure Nerello Mascalese grapes, grown on the slopes of Etna: it is therefore a naturally volcanic and mineral wine. This wine is part of the Alta Mora line, created to evoke the salient characteristics of the area: Alta refers to the altitude of the vineyards located between 600 and 800 m above sea level and Mora evokes the dark color of volcanic earth, the blackberry or lava on which the vineyards grow and which gives the wine its typical minerality. The bunches are collected manually and then subjected to destemming, soft pressing and fermentation with 12-day maceration in steel. Once the malolactic fermentation is completed, the final stage of aging on large oak barrels is reached for 6 months.
Characteristics of this Sicilian wine
It has an intense garnet red color and a rich and spicy olfactory bouquet reminiscent of berries, Mediterranean scrub and graphite. On the palate it is rich, fresh and enveloping.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Cantina Cusumano
