The Etna Bianco Contrada Arcuria DOC BIO from the Baglio di Pianetto winery is made from organic Carricante grapes grown on the northern slope of Etna, in the Contrada Arcuria in Passopisciaro, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. The vineyards are located between 750 and 800 meters above sea level on sandy soils of volcanic origin, particularly rich in minerals. The harvest is carried out between the end of September and the first days of October. After a manual selection of the grapes, we proceed with soft pressing and fermentation in steel at controlled temperature. The wine subsequently ages for at least six months on the lees in steel tanks and concludes its evolution in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Sicilian wine
It appears with a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, scents of zagara, acacia and citrus emerge, accompanied by mineral and balsamic nuances typical of the Etna area. On the palate it is fresh, balanced and savoury, with a marked volcanic minerality and a pleasant aromatic persistence that closes on balsamic and citrus notes.
Recommended pairings with this Sicilian white wine
This organic Etna Bianco goes very well with appetizers and first courses of traditional Mediterranean fish, shellfish and seafood. It also pairs well with spicy and savory dishes from Eastern cuisine, sushi, grilled fish and fresh cheeses. Its mineral freshness also makes it ideal as an elegant aperitif. Serve at a temperature of 10-12°C.
