ViaFrancia Rosso DOC BIO is born from a blend of Nero d'Avola and Syrah grown organically on high hill estates between Santa Cristina Gela and Noto, between 730 and 830 metres above sea level. The grapes are harvested manually and vinified separately to enhance their varietal characteristics. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel with maceration on the skins, followed by aging partly in barriques for 18 months and finally in bottles.
Characteristics of this Sicilian red wine
It has an intense and bright ruby red color. On the nose it expresses a rich and complex profile, with notes of berries, black cherry and jam, accompanied by spicy, balsamic nuances and light sensations of wood and cocoa. On the palate it is full, warm and balanced, with soft but present tannins and a good final persistence, characterised by fruity and spicy returns.
Pairings seasoned with this red wine from Sicily
ViaFrancia Rosso pairs well with structured first courses such as ragù pastas, savory risottos, grilled red meats, roasts, and light game main courses. It is also suitable with aged cheeses and traditional Mediterranean dishes rich in aromatic herbs and spices. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
