This white wine from the Apulian winery Vespa Vignaioli is made from a blend of Verdeca and Semillon grapes, sourced from the Lizzano vineyards near Taranto. The vineyards are located approximately 100 meters above sea level, on clay soils for Verdeca and sandy soils for Semillon. The harvest takes place around mid-August: followed by cryomaceration for 6 hours at 8°C and maceration on the lees for 5-6 months. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel at 12°C and the final aging phase involves a steel stop for 5 months.
Characteristics of this wine from Puglia
It is striking for its bright straw yellow color and fruity, floral olfactory notes: lime, yellow peach, white pepper, citrus peel, thyme, and lavender. On the palate it is captivating, with a complex structure influenced by the acid vein of Verdeca.
Recommended pairings with this white wine
