The Pactio IGT Toscana di Tenuta Fertuna originates in the heart of the Maremma, in the Gavorrano area, where the vineyards grow on clayey-skeletal soils and enjoy the influence of Tyrrhenian breezes that promote balance and regular ripening. It is a wine obtained from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with vineyards about ten years old. Winemaking takes place with fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature and subsequent aging in oak tonneaux, mostly new, for about four months, followed by a brief rest in the bottle before being released for sale, so as to integrate structure and softness without losing the freshness of the fruit.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
On organoleptic examination it appears with an intense and bright ruby red colour. The olfactory profile is broad and fragrant, with notes of ripe red fruit such as cherry and small berries, enriched with spicy nuances and light sensations of vanilla and balsamic hints. On the palate it is balanced and harmonious, with well-present but silky tannins and a good freshness that supports drinking. The sip is full but flowing, with a gustatory progression that recalls ripe fruit and sweet spices, closing on an elegant and clean persistence.
Recommended pairings with this red wine
It pairs well with cured meats, first courses with meat sauces, grilled or stewed red meats, game, and aged cheeses, making it suitable for both traditional Tuscan dishes and richer, more contemporary preparations. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
