Lodai IGT Toscana della Tenuta Fertuna is a red wine produced in the Tuscan Maremma, obtained mainly from pure Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of around fifteen years and are carefully selected to ensure quality and concentration. Winemaking takes place in temperature-controlled steel, while aging takes place for approximately twelve months in French oak tonneaux from Allier, both new and second and third pass. After blending, the wine completes its journey with an additional rest period in the bottle of at least six months, developing complexity and balance.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
On organoleptic examination, it appears with an intense ruby red color, which over time can evolve towards light garnet shades. On the nose it expresses a broad and complex profile, characterized by hints of ripe red fruits and berries, accompanied by spicy notes such as pink pepper and more evolved shades of chocolate, tobacco and light roasts. On the palate it is full-bodied and well-structured, with a harmonious balance between acidity and tannins, which are elegant and well integrated. The finish is long, persistent and constantly evolving, confirming the quality and typicality of the grape variety.
Recommended pairings with this wine from Tenuta Fertuna
Try it with rich, structured dishes like grilled or roasted red meats, braised meats, game, and aged cheeses, but it also pairs well with flavorful cured meats. The ideal service temperature is between 16 and 18 °C.
