Syrah Sicilia DOC BIO is obtained from pure Syrah grapes grown organically between the Noto and Santa Cristina Gela estates, at approximately 700–750 metres above sea level. The vineyards develop on predominantly clayey and sandy soils, rich in minerals, with strong temperature variations that favor aromatic concentration. The harvest is manual and takes place between the end of August and September with careful selection of bunches. After destemming and soft pressing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel with maceration on the skins. The wine then ages in steel tanks for several months and then in bottle before being marketed.
Characteristics of this Sicilian wine
It has a deep ruby red color with purple highlights. On the nose it expresses clear scents of ripe berries, cherry and plum, accompanied by spicy notes of black pepper and balsamic hints. In some interpretations, shades of violet, cocoa and light herbaceous sensations also emerge. On the palate it is dry, medium-bodied, with soft and well-integrated tannins, good freshness and a persistent and slightly spicy closure.
Recommended pairings with this Sicilian red wine
This Syrah pairs well with earthenware dishes such as grilled red meats, roasts, stews, and savory first courses with meat sauces. It is also suitable for semi-seasoned cheeses and structured Mediterranean dishes, thanks to its balance between fruit and spice. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
