Descrizione vino

This white wine of the Sicilian tradition is a very polyvalent wine and it born from a little vine between sandy dunes and spontaneous vegetation. The breeze refreshes the grapes that are left to become ripe on the tree more time compared to the normal harvest. The cultivation is located in the Cala dei tufi area in the Melfi town in the Agrigento province. This wine is made by 100% Chardonnay grapes. This wine is honored by the DOC certification. The profit is 38 quintals per hectare and the density can almost achieve the 4000 trees per hectare. The soil is calcareous and it is located at 180 meters above the sea level at south-east. The grapes are softly pressed and they are cooled at 5-8°C. The fermentation in steel takes place at 16°C. The wine has to stay for 6 months in steel tanks and 4 further months in bottle.

 

Characteristics of the Vendemmia Tardiva "CALADEITUFI" wine

It has a straw yellow color with gold reflections. The smell has lemons, wild prunes and honey aromas. The taste is sweet and enveloping with soft ripe fruity aromas. It is very drinkable and with a very round taste.

This Mandrarossa Caladeitufi Vendemmia Tradiva is a meditation or a convivial wine. It is perfect with blue cheeses, not very aged. It is perfect with the pastry-making, especially the bakery or the bitter chocolate. It can achieve a proof of 12,5% and it has to be served at 12°C in little wine glasses. It can be aged up to 5 years.
