Valtellina Superiore Sassella "San Lorenzo" DOCG Mamete Prevostini
100% Nebbiolo grapes selected in the best vineyards located inside the walls of the convent San Lorenzo in the district of Sondrio, in the area of Valtellina Superiore DOCG Sassella. The manual harvest starts after the first decade of October. During the winemaking, only the best grapes are selected for the pressing, that means that the ruined fruits or those hit by the mould are immediately rejected. After the elimination of stalks, the pressed grapes are poured into steel containers where the alcoholic fermentation starts. 15 days maceration on skins at 25°C, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and 16 months aging. The maturation continues in the bottle for 10 months.

Intense ruby red colour tending to garnet. Its fresh perfume recalls red fruits, well balanced with balsamic and spicy sensations. The taste is warm, dry, persistent and elegant. The final is persistent and pleasant. It is characterized mainly by nuts.
Recommended food pairings while tasting this red wine
It is great with meat and medium-aged cheese. It has to be served at 16°C in a wide wine glass. The alcoholic strength is 13,5%Vol.
