The red wine Rosso Umbria I.G.T. is a real classy and refined wine and it represents its territory peculiarities. It is produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes with a proof of 13%. Firstly there is a manual picking of the grapes in October and it lasts about 20/25 days then it follows the natural malolactic fermentation in oak barrels for 12 months. Finally there is the bottle aging which lasts 12 further months. The production area is composed by 5000 trees per hectare and it is cultivated with the cordon spur pruning. The vines are 9-10 years old with a profit of 80 quintals per hectare. The soils are located at 370 meters above the sea level and they are exposed at south-west.

The red wine Rosso Umbria IGT of the Villa Mongalli winery has an intense ruby red color with remarkable black cherry aromas joined by a violet and strawberry hints. The taste is fruity, round, structured and rightly tannic.

The red wine Rosso Umbria IGT is perfect with pasta with vegetables and tomatoes. It has to be served at 16°-18°C in a Ballon or Bordeaux wine glasses.
