This wonderful wine of the Zenato winery is made with Trebbiano di Lugana grapes coming from the Massoni estate an historical vineyard and perfect for its exposition and soil. This is made in the Peschiera del Garda hamlet at the south of the lake. The exposition is south, and they are located at 80 meters above the sea level. The soil has limestone and clay and the cultivation method is the Guyot. The vineyards are 50 years old with a profit of 110 quintal per hectare. The grape harvest takes place in the last decade of September and there is a soft pressing with a fermentation for 15-20 days in stainless steel tanks at 16-18°C. It follows the refinement for 4-5 months in stainless steel tanks and further 2-3 months in bottle.
Characteristics of the Lugana Santa Cristina Doc
It has a straw yellow color with green reflections. The smell is intense with floral, citron and fruity aromas. The taste is mineral, balanced, soft and delicate.
Suggested pairings with this white wine of the Garda area
It is perfect with luxury appetizers, white meats and lake’s fishes. It must be served at 9-10°C and the proof is 12.5%.
