Descrizione vino

For the production of this renamed red wine Lagrein Porphyr DOC of the Terlano Winery uses three selected vineyards which are almost one century olds which give very concentrate grapes. This Lagrein Porphyr is made completely in barrels, and took its name from the stones where it grows which gives it a compact and unforgettable taste. This wine is produced with 100% Lagrein grapes and the wine has the DOC Alto Adige certification and it belongs to the classic line of the winery. There is a manual picking of the grapes then the berries are racked off and it follows the slow fermentation under temperature control and the delicate removing of the must in stainless steel tanks. The malolactic fermentation and the aging lasts 18 months in barrels. For the barrel aging are used for 1/3 new barrels. The assembling takes place 3 months before the commercialization. The territory cultivation is located at north of Terlano. All soils have a slope of 35% and they are exposed at South, South-west at 250-500 meters above the sea level.

It is perfect with deer with nuts and roots vegetables but also with blue cabbage. It is very good also with braised beef cooked with Langrein with mixed cornmeal mush or with vegetables and also with braised cheek lard of veil with a celery and Langrein foam cream. It has to be served at 18°C in Bordeaux wine glasses to guarantee the spreading of the aromas.
