Descrizione vino

This is a great excellent wine and it expresses the character of the territory of Liguria. It is honored by the DOC – Colli di Luni certification. The blend is made by 70%Sauvignon, 20% of Merlot and 10% of Cannaiolo. The agricultural company la baia del sole is located in the DOC area of Ortonovo close to Castelnuovo Magra. The vines are located at 50 and 100 meters above the sea level at North and east. The soil has a pebbly and clay consistence which is mixed to some rich and deep stones. The vines are cultivated with the Guyot method with a density of 4500 units per hectare with a profit of 75-85 quintals per hectare. It takes place the manual picking and late the fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Both the maceration then the fermentation takes place under temperature controls at 18°-26°C. It lasts 15-20 days. It follows the racking off and the aging in barrels for 12-14 months and it ends with further 12 months in bottle.


Characteristics of the Colli di Luni Rosso Riserva "Terre d'Oriente" Doc

It has an intense ruby red color with a great consistence almost impenetrable. The scent is pungent and penetrating. There are some remarked aromas of red fruits, black pepper and cloves. The taste is rich, warm, substantial and almost mellow. There is also some remarked ripen fruit hints very structured and fascinating.  The proof is 14%.


Suggested pairings with this great red wine riserva from Liguria

It is suggested with grilled red meats or with local game. It is perfect with boar. It can also be matched with the molded or long aged cheeses. It has to be served in a Ballon wine glass at 20°C.
