Brunello di Montalcino "Pian delle Vigne" 2020 DOCG Antinori

The sensational red wine Brunello di Montalcino DOCG of the Pian delle Vigne estate is produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes. This refined and prestigious Brunello is made by the typical structure and harmonic body together with balance and elegance. The grapes are carefully selected during July a little before the normal picking. This allow the bunches left on the trees to get the right degree of maturation. Then the destemmed and pressed grapes are put in steel tanks where it starts the alcoholic fermentation which lasts 15 days at 27°C. The wine obtained makes the malolactic fermentation and it starts its period in oak barrels of 30-80 hl. After two years of aging, the wine is bottled in the second half of January.

Characteristics of the Brunello di Montalcino "Pian delle Vigne" DOCG wine

The Pian delle Vigne has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The smell has intense floral aromas such as violet, but also fruity smells such as prune, blackberry and wood. There is a light hint of chocolate together with leather, tobacco leaves and balsamic fragrances. The taste is elegant with silky and soft tannins with a good persistence. It is also little acid with a good mineral taste. It is a long-lived wine.
