This white wine from the Piedmontese winery Marziano Abbona takes its name from the scientific name of the Verdone, the sparrow depicted on the product label. The Riesling grapes used to produce this wine come from vineyards with an average age of 18 years located near the winery. Once the harvest is complete, the whole grapes are pressed and the must is left to settle for 72 hours, followed by natural decanting and alcoholic fermentation. The final stage of ageing takes place in steel for 6-7 months in contact with the fine lees and yeasts and finally in the bottle for another 6 months.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
It has a beautiful straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet is delicate, with hints of green apple, graphite and grass. On the palate, it is fresh and savoury and stands out for its remarkable drinkability.
