Bosco del Merlo

Bosco del Merlo is a wine-growing region in northeastern Italy located between eastern Veneto and western Friuli, a border area characterized by a strong agricultural vocation and a microclimate particularly favorable to vines. The company's history began in 1977 in Annone Veneto, when the Paladin family decided to invest in a project dedicated to the quality and enhancement of the area. The name “Bosco del Merlo” recalls ancient topographical maps of the area and the oak forests that once covered these lands, underlining the strong connection with the original landscape. The winery was born within a broader family vision led by the Paladins, active in the wine world since 1962, and is developed with the aim of combining tradition, innovation and agronomic research. From the very beginning, great impetus has been given to experimentation in the vineyard, with soil zoning studies and collaboration with universities and research institutions to identify the most suitable grape varieties for different soils. One of Bosco del Merlo's most important features is its scientific approach to viticulture, now known as “reasoned viticulture”: a method that combines agronomic knowledge, modern technologies, and respect for the environment, with the aim of obtaining high-quality grapes while reducing environmental impact. The territory is a central element of the company's identity: the vineyards are located between the Alps to the north, the Adriatic Sea to the south, and the Dolomites to the west, conditions that create a breezy, temperate climate, ideal for aromatic and well-balanced wines. From a production point of view, the winery processes both native grape varieties from Friuli and Veneto and international varieties, with particular attention to stylistic precision and expressive cleanliness of the wines. Collaborations with oenologists and universities have helped define a modern style, oriented towards consistent quality and territorial recognizability.
