Calabria Rosso "MAGLIOCCO" Lento

The Magliocco IGT is a balanced wine which expresses the passion of the land where it born. It is obtained by the Arvino, Greco Nero, Magliocco Canino, Nerello Cappuccio, Malvasia Bianca and Pecorello grapes. It has an intense red color with evident violet reflection. The main flavors are the fresh red fruit and there are some floral aromas too. Thanks to the using of white berries it is soft and dynamic. It is perfect with main dishes and white meats. The Magliocco vine or commonly called “Gaglioppo” is local from Calabria but it has Greek origins. It has spread mostly in the Cosenza and Catanzaro provinces. The vine, in Calabria is one of the most common component of all the DOC red wine.  It is characterized by a good quantity production and constant in the time. The cultivation method is the less expanded and the pruning has to be short.

Characteristics of this red wine

It has an intense ruby red color with winy scents which evolves in a rich bouquet. The Rosé has a bright pink color and it has a fruity and floral bouquet.

Suggested matches while tasting this wine from Calabria

It has to be joined to structured main dishes also spicy. The meat has not to be structured or spicy. It is perfect with ragù, with durum wheat pasts and fresh ones.
