Su'entu

Cantina Su'entu is a modern winemaking community in central-southern Sardinia, located in the Marmilla hills, in the Sanluri area. It was born from a project by the Pilloni family, historically linked to agriculture and trade, who decided to bring their business back to its peasant origins by transforming an ancient connection with the land into a structured and innovative winery. The name “Su'entu”, which in Sardinian means “the wind”, recalls one of the most characteristic elements of the area: the hill on which the estate stands is in fact constantly exposed to the breezes that come from the sea and cross the Campidano. This wind, present for much of the year, plays a fundamental role in corporate viticulture because it keeps vineyards healthy, reduces humidity, and contributes to a more balanced ripening of the grapes, giving the wines a typical imprint of freshness and flavor. The winery's history is linked above all to Salvatore Pilloni, who initiated the agricultural project by recovering and merging local land to rebuild a modern winemaking community on a profoundly rural basis. The project is growing rapidly and also involves the new generations of the family, now actively involved in the management of the winery and the development of the brand nationally and internationally. From a territorial point of view, Su'entu extends over approximately 80–90 hectares in total, with a significant portion dedicated to vineyards, as well as olive groves, vegetable gardens and spaces dedicated to hospitality and catering. The winery is designed as a true integrated agricultural ecosystem, where production, hospitality and landscape enhancement coexist in the same place. One of the company's most notable features is its strong territorial identity: the wines are linked to typical Sardinian grape varieties such as Bovale, Cannonau, Vermentino, Nasco, and Moscato, interpreted in a modern style consistent with the island's tradition. The production philosophy aims to express the character of Marmilla through wines that reflect the windy climate, soils and the strong temperature range of the territory. Another distinctive element is the architecture of the winery, designed as an open space and integrated into the landscape, where production and hospitality intertwine. The property is designed to take the visitor on an immersive journey through vineyards, winery and surrounding nature, reflecting a contemporary vision of wine as a cultural as well as an agricultural experience. Today, Su'entu is considered one of the most dynamic realities of contemporary Sardinian wine: a young winery deeply rooted in the local agricultural tradition, capable of combining territorial identity, innovation, and a strong focus on sustainability, with wines that directly convey the windy, Mediterranean character of Marmilla.
