Descrizione vino

The vineyard of Sandro Fay estate called “Caterìa” has a surface of 3 hectares. It is located in the sub-zone Valgella at 500 meters on the sea level; Its name comes from a little section of Teglio district, where the Fay family has its her properties. In Caterìa they started some works that has continued in the years. Fay uses 100% Nebbiolo variety, cultivated with Guyot method. The production zone is Valgella in the west side of Teglio district, where the vineyards are south-oriented in order to receive the sun rays during the whole day. This vineyard produces 40 hl/hectare and the harvest is planned in the second half of October. This phase is then followed by fermentation in steel for two weeks and maceration process for 6 days. Malolactic fermentation and maturation (12 months) are managed in barriques.

 

Features of Valgella Riserva Sandro Fay

The organoleptic exam reveals an intense ruby red colour with orange shades. The perfume is rich of red fruits with elegant hints of spices. The taste is warm, involving, structured.
