Cantodoro di Feudo Arancio is a Sicilian DOC red wine made from two grape varieties, Nero d'Avola and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in the Sambuca di Sicilia area, in the province of Agrigento. This blend represents the meeting between the native Sicilian tradition and the international elegance of Cabernet. The grapes are harvested separately when they reach full ripeness: Nero d'Avola in the second week of September and Cabernet Sauvignon in the first week of October. Winemaking takes place for both varieties with maceration on the skins and fermentation at controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation. After separate winemaking, the wines ripen in French oak barriques for several months and are then assembled, further refining into wood to promote aromatic integration and blend complexity.
Characteristics of this Sicilian wine
In the calyx it has a deep, concentrated red colour with purple reflections. On the nose it is rich and complex, with notes of ripe red fruits such as blackberry, raspberry and currant, accompanied by spicy and balsamic nuances. The wood refinement enriches the bouquet with evolved hints of licorice, tobacco, plum and a delicate touch of vanilla. On the palate it is a structured and enveloping wine, with good body and soft tannins that support a balanced and persistent sip, where the fruity component integrates harmoniously with the spicy and toasted notes.
Recommended pairings with this white wine from Feudo Arancio
It is a red wine with good structure, ideal in combination with pasta with ragù, grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses. It also lends itself well to richer dishes of Sicilian tradition, such as meat rolls or tasty baked preparations. The recommended serving temperature is between 16 and 18 °C, so as to enhance its aromatic complexity and gustat balance
