Luciano Sandrone's Barbera is made from grapes grown in seven vineyards located in Monforte d'Alba, Novello and Barolo: here, in the heart of the Langhe, the vines enjoy exposure at 420 metres above sea level, on sandy and clay soils. After the grapes are harvested by hand, they are vinified separately, followed by spontaneous fermentation and soft maceration in steel. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak tonneaux and then for a final 9 months in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Barbera
It has a very intense ruby red colour. The nose is striking with fruity notes of cherry, plum and raspberry. On the palate, it is powerful and elegant, with perfect balance.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from Piedmont
Try it with roasts and grilled meats, risottos with vegetables or meat. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C.
