The vineyards dedicated to the production of Urra di Mare, stand close to the nature reserve of the Belice River, with vineyards that slope down to the sea, thus enjoying cool sea breezes that result in a dry and mineral wine. The territory of origin is the one in the Urra di Mare district, in Menfi nell'agrigentino. The grapes used for its production are 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The classification is that of Bianco Sicilia DOC. The soil is characterized by the medium dough and the good presence of clay. The yield per hectare reaches 85 quintals and the density of the vine is a maximum of 4500 vines per hectare of land planted with vines. The altitude of the ground degrades from 150 meters above sea level to 80 meters.The exposure is optimal to the south and south east. The vinification provides for a first phase with the cryomaceration of the grapes at controlled temperature of 5 °C in the press, then the fermentation in steel tanks at 16 º C maximum 18 º C. C. Follows a period of maturation of 3 months in steel tanks at controlled temperature of 10 º C. Then the aging of further 4 months in bottle.
Sauvignon Blanc "Urra di Mare" DOC's features
The color is straw yellow with golden and bright reflections. The bouquet has aromas of citrus fruits such as peach, apricot and grapefruit, balanced with hints of mint and basil. The taste represents an excellent balance between fruit aromas and pleasing minerality. The freshness is ample and wrapping as well as persistent.

Si abbina bene agli aperitivi con la stuzzicheria salata e con le creme delicate di verdure. Ideale da abbinare ai frutti di mare o al pesce alla griglia, alle fritture di mare e al pesce azzurro cotto alla piastra. Si conserva in cantina per massimo 3 anni. Va servito fresco a 12° C in calice alto ed ampio.
