Nani Rizzi

For over a century, the Nani Rizzi Company has passionately continued a family tradition that began in 1887, when Giovanni Spagnol, better known as Nani Rizzi, planted the first rows, driven by passion, dedication, and love for the land. Thus began the story of the Nani Rizzi Winery among the green hills of Valdobbiadene, now led by Denis Spagnol and his three daughters. From the manual harvesting of Glera grapes to every stage of winemaking, there is constant attention to detail that only a family can guarantee, thanks also to the perfect combination of tradition and innovation. The grapes grown in the Valdobbiadene DOCG area are predominantly Glera, which, as required for the production of Prosecco, must constitute the integrity of the grape variety if used pure or must constitute at least 85% of the blend. Regarding the soils of this renowned UNESCO World Heritage area of Veneto, it is important to emphasize that the soil composition is generally clayey, due to its marine origins: this produces fresh, fragrant wines thanks to the predominantly aromatic grape varieties used, whose aromas and flavors are extracted in a relatively short period of time thanks to the Charmat or Martinotti Method.
