This blend is composed by 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are located in Tatzenschrot, in the heart of Manincor estate, where the hills have a south-east exposition. The composition of the soils, mainly characterized by clay and limestone, joined to the warm climate, make this area perfect for the production of red wines. Each variety is treated separately for the wine making. The spontaneous fermentation is managed in wooden barrels. 4 weeks maceration, in order to extract tannins. 20 months aging in new and used barriques.
Features of the "Castel Campan" wine
This fabulous wine is characterized by a deep and shiny purple red colour. Its delicate perfumes recall black and red fruits, oriental spices, leather and tobacco. The taste is strong and full of tannins, that contribute to its consistent structure. They are too aggressive when the wine is young, but they let the wine-lover understand its potential. Silky and persistent taste.
