Descrizione vino

The producing winery  Fanti gives many attention to the production of the Sassomagno Sant’Antimo DOCThis wine allows the use of the blend of many grapes, all selected and coming from the new vineyards of Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The wine making process is manual and it takes place in September depending on the seasons. The maturation takes place in two places: in French oak barrels and in medium big barrels. Finally they are also aged a little bit in bottles before being commercialized. The vines used in the blend for the production of the Sant’Antimo Sassomagno are spread in 21 hectares on clay soil with a pebbly consistence. The manual grape harvest takes place in September depending on the maturation of the grapes. The trees are between 7 and 15 years old. The complex profit is 70 quintals per hectare.

 

Characteristics of this red wine

This wine has an intense and bright ruby red color. It has undergrowth fruits aromas with delicate violet, sweet and strong spicy aromas. The taste is fresh and the tannins give longevity to the wine.

 

Suggested pairings with the Sant'Antimo Rosso "SASSOMAGNO” DOC

The Sant’Antimo Sassomagno DOC of the Fanti is perfect with almost every earth dish. It is a particular meal wine, it is perfect with pasta, grilled or in humid meats with vegetables and cheeses. It has to be served at 16 – 18° C in Ballon wine glasses.
