Salice Salentino Rosso DOP "Il Barone" Mediterranea
This prestigious and luxury wine of the Mediterranea company called “il Barone” is a red wine very bodied and structured perfect to be matched with the great courses of the Italian tradition. It is produced in Salento in the Puglia region. The grapes used are cultivated on calcareous soils of karst origins rich of iron and aluminum which is the main characteristic of the red ground of Salento which give to the territory a great warmness. The harvest has to ferment under temperature control in specific vats. The maceration lasts 7-10 days. Then the grapes are pressed and stocked in steel tanks for the malolactic fermentation.

The red wine Il Barone of the Mediterranea winery is produced with Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes cultivated in the company estate. It has an intense and deep ruby red color with a wide perfume, long ethereal and winy rich of red fruits and berries followed by a full and dry taste which is also compact and persistent. The proof is 14%, the acidity is 5,5 grams per liter and the “natural” sulfur dioxide is 95 mg. per liter.
